On February 7, 2025, the Max<\/strong> platform premiered a shocking documentary series: The Heroic Minute: I Also Left Opus Dei<\/em>. This production, directed by the renowned journalist M\u00f2nica Terribas<\/strong> and developed by The Mediapro Studio<\/strong>, offers an unprecedented look inside one of the most hermetic institutions of the Catholic Church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series is made up of four episodes<\/strong> that give voice to thirteen women from Spain, Latin America, Ireland and the United Kingdom<\/strong>, who share their experiences within Opus Dei for the first time. These women denounce psychological, religious and economic abuse<\/strong> that they experienced for years in the institution. <\/p>\n\n

The production intersperses real interviews with dramatizations<\/strong> starring actress Claudia Traisac<\/strong>, which allows us to reconstruct the experiences of the protagonists: their entry into adolescence, isolation from their families, life under rigid rules of prayer and unpaid work, and finally, the painful process of exit.<\/p>\n\n

The title refers to the exact moment when each of them decided to leave Opus Dei. That “heroic minute”<\/strong> represents an act of courage and rupture with what, until then, had been his environment, his identity and his spiritual family. <\/p>\n\n
